Ashlee Hutchens, RN, MSPH, NBC-HWC, DipACLM

Sheryl (Ashlee) Hutchens, RN, MSPH, specializes in Integrative Health Coaching and Lifestyle Medicine. She has been a part of The Renewal Point team since 2009 and finds that the key to sustainable change lies in understanding the unique needs and circumstances of each individual. Ashlee focuses on helping patients discover what works best for them, supporting them  in not only addressing current health challenges but also applying these insights to future behavior changes, creating a domino effect of positive outcomes.

Ashlee's passion for integrative approaches to healthcare stems from her own experience of being diagnosed with severe scoliosis at age 13, which highlighted the importance of a strong support system and multiple approaches to addressing health challenges.

Before joining The Renewal Point, Ashlee served as Program Director for Health and Wellness Programs at the University of South Carolina, providing one-on-one consultations and leading programs in weight loss, nutrition, physical activity, tobacco cessation, body image awareness, and stress management for students, faculty, and staff. She also facilitated group smoking cessation programs at Palmetto Health Hospital System and co-chaired committees such as the Eating Disorder Multidisciplinary Team. Additionally, she taught courses in the USC School of Public Health to prepare students as Peer Health Educators. These experiences enriched her understanding of behavior change and strengthened her commitment to supporting lasting health improvements.

Ashlee holds a Master of Science in Public Health with a concentration in Health Education, Promotion, and Behavior (University of South Carolina, Magna Cum Laude), along with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing (FIU, Summa Cum Laude) and Health Science (Clemson, Cum Laude). Ashlee is a National Board Certified Health and Wellness Coach, trained through Vanderbilt University Integrative Medical Center, and is a Certified Lifestyle Medicine Coach and Diplomate of the American College of Lifestyle Medicine. Her approach emphasizes evidence-based strategies to promote sustainable health and wellness.

Ashlee is a lifelong learner and dedicated to staying at the forefront of advancements in Lifestyle Medicine and Coaching. She recognizes that successful coaching goes beyond telling individuals what to eat; it involves understanding the strengths, values, and goals of each person, and creating personalized strategies to foster lasting change.

When not working, Ashlee enjoys spending time with her husband, kids, family and friends, as well as camping, live music, science museums, reading, and being outdoors.
